as a uga alumni i shall endeavor to provide some insight into the past, some hope for the future and some takes on the here and now. sounds like a bit much for me, but like a true junkyard dawg, i will fight to hunker down and get it done!

excerpt from: the year of the wonderdawgs

"well guys, here we are in the tiger's den! baton rogue on a saturday night, a place THEY call DEATH VALLEY! there must be at least a half million raging cajuns jammed into this place. here we are, about 3/4 of a mile from the mighty ole man river and at the half we are trailing the tigers by ten! well, we might just get run right into that mighty river if we can't get something going here as we receive the second half kick-off!
the young freshman Lindsay Scott, from Jesup, is back to receive the kick. Oh my Lord... just listen to these people... so loud... they say this is the scariest place to play on a saturday night, i think they might be right! the crowd is screaming: " goooooo..." so loudly that i just wet myself, with a cola i spilled from a cup! "gooooo..." getting louder still! "goooooo..." there's the kick, high and long...Lindsay takes it at the one or two and here he comes... watch it, watch it... a hole opens up in the middle of the field and young Lindsay has just blown into the open.... 40..he's at the 50... the 45...40...35..30...can he go? 25..20...15...10... a defender with an angle is trying to get him, Lindsay twists away and he scores a touchdown! Lindsay Scott has just gotten the dawgs back into a game we have no reason to be in. Trailing at the half, on the road, in Baton Rouge, on a Saturday night, with half a million Ragin' Cajuns at our throats the dawgs have made it a game!"  it was one of the most exciting plays i've ever seen. my buds and i not only spilled cokes, we spilled bourbon! if not for our joy, we might have cried about that!
